VELVET HISTORY AND TYPES
Velvet appeared for the first time during the reigns of ancient Egypt and China, and it was made of pure silk since the latter country was at that time, the world's first producer. VELVET USES
Velvet has many applications and uses, but it is mainly used in the fashion industry for dressmaking. Thanks to its elegant and refined appearance, it is ideal for the realization of mini and mini skirts, evening suits and cool jackets. Due to its excellent thermo-insulating properties it is ideal for interior coverings. TYPES OF VELVET
There are actually many different types of velvet, which differentiates themselves for their appearance and materials. Let's discover all of them together:

- Embossed velvet: this velvet has symbols, designs embossed into it maintaining a soft, shiny appearance
- Ring velvet: extremely thin, like a chiffon
- Hammered velvet: one of the most refined velvets. The softness of its surface reminds of an animal coat
- Crushed velvet: Does not have an even surface, but this creates a unique effect
- Lyons velvet: one of the denser velvets available on the market, widely used in coating and dressmaking
