TARTAN
Tartan fabric is commonly associated with traditional Scottish kilts. During the last years we have saw it on runaways. Originally tartan was only made of woven wool, but today this fabric is often blended with other fibers. Tartan is typically woven in a twill weave pattern, which gives it a diagonal motif and makes it a durable and sturdy textile.
The term tartan comes from the French tiritaine, which means wooly and uneven. Being originated from Scotland, its is also called Scottish fabric. Its fame is due to famous English fashion brands which in 1920 s used tartan as a lining for their trench and coats. From that moment, tartan became a symbol of elegance and refinement.
People around the world use tartan fabric for various clothing items, such as kilts, scarves, and skirts, as well as for upholstery, curtains, and other interior decorations. TARTAN FABRIC COLLECTION
